Great way to explain to kids the topic of amputation

My dad recently had a below the knee amputation and I was concerned about explaining it to my inquisitive 3 1/2 year old. Although I ended up skipping some words and pages (simply because it was too long for a toddler) I truly think it was a great way to explain what had happened to my dad and the changes and challenges we'd all go through, but reinforce the idea that he would still be her Grampy. So helpful for our difficult situation and I was thrilled to find a book to help me share this with her...she has already referred to it a few times now that she's visiting him.

I have had a hard copy of the original IGOS Grimoire Verum for some time it is
an extremely powerful grimoire which I have used with affect in magickal Rituals.

Cognitive enhancement offers a potential benefit to a variety of populations:  neurologic and psychiatric disorders are associated with cognitive impairment, a growing population suffers from mild aging-related cognitive impairment, and those with normal functioning may desire improvement of intellectual performance. While there has been a substantial increase in research tools allowing for multiple-level analysis of cognition, building our knowledge of the molecular/cellular basis of cognitive function and offering the possibility technological development to enhance cognition, there is currently a gap in coverage in the research market. This volume addresses that gap, gathering multidisciplinary knowledge and providing tools for understanding the basics of cognitive enhancement and assistance in designing procedures/pharmacological approaches to further the use of novel cognitive enhancers. Separate sections are presented on enhancement drugs, environmental conditions and genetic factors, as well as on enhancement with regard to specific diseases. These topics are discussed in terms of both human and animal studies, and with regard to both healthy/young and aging/diseased individuals.

About the Author
Shira Knafo is the head of the Molecular Cognition Laboratory and an Ikerbasque research professor at The University of the Basque Country (Biophysics Unit, Leioa). Her particular interests are in studying the molecular and synaptic mechanisms underlying learning and memory processes, cognitive malfunction and cognitive enhancement. Her experience in different scientific disciplines (medicine, animal behaviour, electrophysiology, molecular biology, morphology and imaging) allows her to adopt a multidisciplinary approach that is considered a great asset in modern neuroscience research. In 2012, she was awarded the Sieratzki Prize for Advances in Neuroscience (Tel-Aviv University) for her contributions in the field of cognitive neuroscience. In the same year, the Spanish National Research Council acknowledged her achievements in its annual tribute to its scientists. In 2013, the Spanish Ministry of Science awarded her an I3 certificate of excellence.

Associate Professor, Department of Psychopharmacology at the Universidad de Educación a Distancia in Spain and is Director of the Lab for Neurobiology of Stress and Neurodegenerative Diseases. He has authored two books on psychopharmacology and memory work. He co-chaired the “Cognitive Enhancement in Health and Disease” symposium at the 2012 Federation for European Neuroscience annual meeting.

A Must Have for Anyone Looking to Have a Successful Business

Principles of Business Success goes beyond just the usual tips of how to better manage your work life and gives you other useful information that you don't typically see on blogs or other books. I am mostly referring to the parts of this book that talk about the need to take care of yourself not just financially, but also personally. I really enjoyed how this book made me think more about my personal goals and personal health and did not just focus on the business side of things. It is so easy to get lost in the business that you can forget about your own well-being. This book also does a great job of talking about business goals and gives great business tips though. Actually, one of the charms of this book is that it shares how you can enjoy both your business and personal life without having to sacrifice one for the other.

I know a lot of people who work from home like I do. I can easily seeing this being a great book for anyone who works at home and has a limited amount of time due to other commitments like raising children for example. Principles of Business Success shows you how you can effectively manage your time so that you get the best out of whatever time you have available. The book also offers great business strategies which are important for starting and growing a business. For mothers who want to work at home it is important to have a solid business strategy. With a solid business strategy, you can stay focused, not get overwhelmed and exhausted with tasks, and see your business grow successfully. Principles of Business Success gives you a great business strategy model that incorporates both business goals and personal goals so that moms working from home, or any other extremely busy person working from home, are provided with a solid and clear guide to follow.

I work at home too and I can see myself taking a lot of the key concepts from this book and applying them to my own business. About the Author
The authors have developed and co-instructed environmental interpretation classes at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, College of Natural Resources for 30 years. They created the Interpreters Handbook Series in 1988, a series of training manuals for the interpretive profession. The team serves as a consultant to interpretive agencies and private organizations, facilitating workshops and providing planning and evaluation services. Their enthusiasm for natural history grew from their childhood explorationsMike in northwest Iowa and Ron in the Nebraska Sandhills.

Good Addition to any Interpretive Collection

This book is worth adding to your library on interpretive centers and planning. It isn't a how-to as much as an inspirational review of what is out there and how one may wish to adapt one's own interpretive project. Excellent photography outlines many of the principles of interpretive planning, site design and the history of various centers. I have no hesitation in endorsing this book as a useful addition to any interpretive collection, I was definitely able to glean some ideas for our project in the Orinoco River basin of Colombia.

Did not expect the well written history of nature centers. A bonus. The centers reviewed were were for a variety of landscapes and were educational in presentation. A great help for getting ideas for improvements to our local center.

OLAYIWOLA ABEGUNRIN is Professor of International Relations at Howard University. He taught international relations at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, from 1980 to 1990 and served as chair of the department.
