Good read

I seen the previews for this movie at the theaters and it prompted me to read the book 1st. I thought it was going to be like a story, like the movie is going to be but it was more like a play by play of events. In any case it was still good and such a sad story.

IT GIVES A GOOD DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT AND THE
SUBSEQUENT LEGAL PROCEEDINGS.

Not quite what I expected...

Written in the "statement, rewind" format the book tells the story of the incident in the very beginning. In a story of this kind I appreciate that the author clearly sets the scene right off. Then he begins to break down the details of the situation, the weapons, the people involved, a little too detailed for me on the weapons, I almost lost interest in the book just trying to get through that but continued on thinking it might be pertanent somewhere along the way. From there, the incident was repeated, then the story speeds up quikcly, the steps to the trial; jury selection, witnesses, verdicts. That portion of the book seems almost like an afterthought with no particular opinion or actual conclusion in the end. I suppose that's intended for you to decide for yourself how you feel about the whole incident. It wasn't terrible, it was informative as to the details, it isn't one of those books I would read again.
